Bear Sightings

Bears are common in the area.  They are attracted to bird feeders and garbage as an easy source of food.  It is recommended that you keep those things secured to avoid luring bears into your yard. If you would like to report a bear sighting in the Township, please contact CSO Mark Caroon and the sighting will be recorded here:

Wednesday, June 5, 2024 - 11000 block of Quail Ave North - Large bear unafraid of big dogs or people. Looking for bird feeders. This bear has been around for the last 3 weeks in this area.

Friday, May 24, 2024 - Township Officials received a report of Bear Sightings at 116th and Norell Ave.

Week of May 19, 2024 - Report of 2 cubs and mother bear in the area of 100th St N/Primrose Ave.

 

April 29, 2025 - Bear sighting in 9300 block of Neal Avenue.

 

April 30, 2025 - Bear reported on NextDoor near Fairy Falls Road and Hwy 95

 

July 26, 2025 - Bear reported near Little Carnelian
