Law Enforcement Public Data - Crime Mapping

On behalf of Sheriff Dan Starry:

Community partners,

Washington County's public facing data system, CrimeMapping.com, is now live. CrimeMapping.com has been developed by CentralSquare Technologies to help law enforcement agencies throughout North America provide the public with valuable information about recent crime activity in their neighborhood. The goal is to assist law enforcement agencies in reducing crime through a better-informed citizenry. Creating more self-reliance among community members is a great benefit to community-oriented policing efforts everywhere and has been proven effective in combating crime.

This new initiative has been realized by a collaborative effort with Washington County IT and the Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Systems Team. Representatives from all law enforcement agencies within Washington County have played an active role in planning, developing, and implementing this initiative and data from each respective jurisdiction is included in the program.

Information will be disseminated to the public this afternoon through various channels, including social media. Feel free to share this information with your community. For more information about this new tool, including what activity is included, when it is updated and how to request more information, please visit the Washington County Sheriff's Office public data website.

Specific questions can be directed to Public Safety System Manager Karen Haines at karen.haines@co.washington.mn.us.

Thank you,

Sheriff Dan Starry
