Stillwater Township has recently received reports concerning fraudulent invoice requests sent through phishing attacks. We urge all residents, vendors, and partners to remain vigilant and exercise caution when handling financial communications related to township services.
Important Payment Policy Reminder
The Town of Stillwater will never request wire transfers as a form of payment for planning services. If you receive any email, phone call, or other communication requesting a wire transfer on behalf of Stillwater Township, consider it fraudulent and do not comply with the request.
What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Request
1. Do not make any wire transfers in response to unsolicited or unexpected invoice requests.
2. Verify the authenticity of any financial communications by contacting township officials directly.
