Town Board Supervisor Filings

Stillwater Township is governed by five Board Supervisors who serve staggered four-year terms. Supervisors are elected at-large in non-partisan races, with all candidates appearing on the November general election ballot in even years. In 2026, Seats 1 and 2 are up for election. Who Can Run

Per MN Statute 204B.06, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age upon assuming office
  • Be a resident of Stillwater Township for at least 30 days prior to the general election
  • Be an eligible voter
  • Have not filed for any other office at the upcoming primary or general election, except as provided in MN Statute 204B.06, subd. 9(2)

How to File

Candidates for Town Board Supervisor file directly with the Township Clerk at Town Hall, located at 13636 90th Street North, Stillwater, MN 55082. The filing period runs from Tuesday, July 14, 2026 through Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. A non-refundable filing fee of $2 is due at the time of filing. Filing is by in-person visit or by mail (notarized affidavit and filing fee enclosed).

Town Hall is not staffed full time. Candidates should contact Clerk Barbara Riehle at 651-439-4120 in advance to arrange a time to file. On July 28, the last day of filing, Town Hall will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accept walk-in filings without an appointment.

Withdrawing Your Candidacy

Candidates who wish to withdraw must file an Affidavit of Withdrawal in person at Town Hall no later than Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Failure to submit this form before the deadline will result in the candidate's name appearing on the November ballot.
